Viewing Assets

The Asset Manager main page gives you two ways to browse your inventory: a hierarchical tree (the Asset Tree tab, the default view) and a flat List View. Both are accessible via tabs at the top of the page.

Searching

A Search assets by name… box sits next to the view tabs and is shared between Asset Tree and List View — switching views keeps your search. It narrows whichever view is already showing, on top of any type or property filter:

• In List View, matching rows are filtered down and the match is highlighted in each name.
• In Asset Tree, the tree is pruned to branches containing a match (ancestors are kept for context), automatically expanded so every match is visible, and a match count is shown next to the search box.

A Search chip appears in the active-filters strip while a search is active; clear it (or the box’s own clear icon) to remove just the search and keep any other filters. If nothing matches, the view shows a message with a Clear search button.

List View

The list view shows all assets in a flat, scrollable list. Each row displays:

• The asset’s type icon and name
• A type badge showing the asset type (e.g. Vehicle, Component)
• A firmware indicator (solid CPU icon) if the asset has one or more xZETA firmware images linked — see Integrations

Assets generated via AI enrichment appear with a purple sparkle icon and a status indicator instead of a type badge:

AI-generated assets cannot be selected for bulk deletion until they have been reviewed and applied.

Previewing an Asset

Click any asset row or the eye icon on the right side of the row to open a preview drawer with a summary of the asset’s properties, including a Firmware field showing a Linked chip or Not linked. From there you can navigate to the full detail page.

The preview drawer’s Basic Information section includes a Firmware row showing Linked or Not linked, matching the firmware indicator shown in the list and tree.

For AI-generated assets that are ready to review, clicking the Review button opens the AI preview drawer where you can accept or discard the generated suggestions.

Quick Actions (Right-Click Menu)

Right-click any asset row — in List View or Tree View — to open a context menu with quick actions:

The integrations submenu only appears when at least one integration is enabled for the workspace. AI-generated placeholder assets also surface from this menu but some actions may be disabled until the asset is reviewed. On archived assets the editing actions (Rename, Set parent…, Set children…, Integrations) are hidden — restore the asset first to make changes.

Bulk Delete

Select one or more assets using the checkboxes on the left of each row. Once any asset is selected, a Delete Selected (N) button appears in the header. Clicking it opens a confirmation dialog before any assets are removed.

If any selected asset has linked risks, the dialog previews the impact:

• Risks that are also linked to other assets are surfaced in an info alert — they simply remain linked to those other assets.
• Risks for which the deleted asset was the only linked asset are listed, and the dialog asks whether you would like to archive them:
  • Archive it/them (the default) — the risks are moved to Archived and can be restored later.
  • Keep it/them with no asset — the risks remain active but are no longer linked to any asset.

If any selected asset is used in an Item Definition, the dialog also previews that impact (previously, deleting an asset changed the definitions that referenced it silently):

• Item definitions that include the asset as a component (or environment node) are listed, each labelled Component or Environment. They lose that node and are flagged for review; the rest of the boundary is kept.
• If a selected asset is the item a definition is about, that definition is listed separately and the dialog asks what should happen to it:
  • Keep it/them (item asset cleared, flagged for review) (the default) — the definition survives without its anchor asset and is flagged for review, keeping its threat model.
  • Archive it/them (moved to Archived; can be restored later) — the definition is archived and can be restored later.

Exporting

The List View header also offers Export Selected (N) and Export All buttons — the same export actions available in the Asset Tree.

Tree View

The tree view renders your assets as a collapsible hierarchy based on their parent-child links. This is useful for understanding how vehicles, features, and components relate to one another.

A node with firmware linked directly to it shows a solid firmware icon. A collapsed node shows a muted, outlined version of the same icon if any of its (currently hidden) descendants have firmware linked — expand it to see which one.

Filtering & Sorting

The tree view has a settings panel with the following options:

• Root Asset Type — choose which asset type forms the roots of the tree
• Group by Property — group assets under a property’s values (this groups the tree, it doesn’t filter it)
• Sort order — Latest first, Oldest first, Name A–Z, or Name Z–A
• Show archived assets — include archived assets in the tree (see Archiving and restoring assets)

Risk Indicator

A node with one or more active risks linked directly to it shows a solid warning icon and the risk count. If a node’s own risks are hidden because it’s collapsed, and any of its descendants carry active risks, the node instead shows a muted, outlined version of the icon with the total risk count across that hidden subtree — expand the node to see which descendant it’s coming from. This is the same rollup that feeds the Risks tab’s “Risks on child assets” section on the parent asset’s detail page.

Selecting an Asset

Clicking a node in the tree selects it and opens a summary panel on the right. From there you can navigate to the full asset detail page.

Firmware Indicator

Nodes with one or more xZETA firmware images linked show a solid firmware (CPU) icon, same as in List View. If a node is collapsed and one of its descendants has firmware linked, the node itself shows a muted outline version of the icon — a hint that firmware exists somewhere in that subtree — so the signal isn’t hidden by collapsing the tree. Expand the node to see exactly which descendant it belongs to.

Suggested Updates Indicator

A node with pending suggested updates on its own Context tab shows a solid sparkle icon with the count. If a node is collapsed and one of its descendants has suggestions pending, the node shows a muted outline version of the icon with the total count across that hidden subtree — expand it to see which descendant it’s coming from. The count only reflects an asset’s latest curation once it has completed — assets that have never been curated show no indicator.

Archiving and Restoring Assets

Archiving is the reversible alternative to deletion: an archived asset is hidden from the default view and can be restored later. Archive and Restore are available from the right-click context menu in both the Asset Tree and List View, and from the header of an archived asset’s detail page.

Archiving an Asset

Choosing Archive opens a confirmation dialog that previews the cascade impact before anything is hidden:

• Risks linked only to this asset are archived along with it.
• Links to other assets are hidden but preserved — they are restored when you restore the asset.
• If any child assets have this asset as their only active parent, an opt-in checkbox lets you archive those children too (plus any risks linked only to them).

Restoring an Asset

Choosing Restore on an archived asset opens a cascade preview listing the assets and risks that were archived along with it, each pre-checked to be restored together. Items you leave unchecked stay archived — their cascade link to this asset is dropped, so a future archive won’t pull them in again.

Finding Archived Assets

Archived assets are hidden by default. Turn on Show archived assets in either view’s settings panel to include them — a Show archived filter chip appears while the toggle is active. Archived assets render with a struck-through name and an outlined Archived chip, and their editing actions are unavailable until you restore them.

Bulk Archive & Restore

Select multiple assets with the checkboxes, then right-click any row in the selection: the menu offers Archive Selected (N) — or Restore Selected (N) when the selected assets are archived — alongside Delete Selected (N), each behind a confirmation dialog. Right-clicking a row outside the selection keeps the single-asset menu for that row.
